I'm not sure what you think of the nomination of Sarah Palin as GOP VP candidate; I'm not completely sure what I think. If the first characteristic of a good VP candidate is that they be experienced and presidential because of that "one heartbeat away" thing, then I'm not sure she was the best choice. My initial reaction to her nomination was “Is this Dan Quayle all over again?” But then that "experienced and presidential" thing would seem to disqualify one of the presidential nominees as well. And Palin is the only one of the four who has executive branch experience, so there is that.
What is beginning to irritate me us how some are beginning to question Palin because of her conservative Christian religious beliefs. Palin has been a member of the Pentecostal church, although for the last six years she and her family have been members of an independent Bible church. One writer seems concerned that Palin “shows a strong faith in the Bible and in prayer.” He is critical of statements she made at old her church, reminiscing about "getting saved here, getting baptized." And she had the audacity to ask the church to pray that a new proposed natural gas pipeline program ($30 billion bucks worth) was God’s will.
The fact that people see a government leader asking for prayers before spending $30 billion as a BAD THING is hard to believe. Are we really at the point in our country that a public official talking about getting saved and getting baptized is seen as proof that they are weird? Both presidential candidates have gone to great lengths in interviews emphasize their religious beliefs in order to appeal to certain segments of voters. The fact that Palin seems to taken her religious views seriously seems strange to some. That it seems strange to them seems strange to me.

OK, I get it, I really do. It does bother me also when those in “the media” (I know there are some “good people” in the media”, It bothers me and I understand that people get concerned about people who are “in charge” outwardly expressing things like prayer and baptism. I know some wacked out people who pray in the streets for people to see them but I don’t believe that is what she was doing. I have heard it said that baptism is an act of an outward expression of ones faith (and that might be true) to the extent that it is an act of faith and obedience and the example given by the one who is the way to be with the Lord and it is the way and the first step in the Christians walk. It is a “big deal” to anyone who remembers being baptized for the remission of their sins.
Praying that something is God’s will? well. . . We all should understand this, if we act outside of or in opposition to that, we act in opposition to the One who will have His way and that is a bad way to be in. We all should pray that everything that we propose is part of His will. We want to be with Him. Lets consider what we are going to propose before we open our mouths and propose it; asking ourselves before our Lord “is this your will? Take our minds and make our will your will, Please do not allow us to be fooled into believing that we acting in your authority when we are acting contrary to that of our Heavenly Father (God confound those who do and those who lead others to do that!), make ours your’s and use us to do your work that good work that builds up and will never come to ruin.”
Christians, true Christians are a strange and always will be a ‘strange people’ in the minds eyes of those who can not see.
Palin? what a strange name. I have heard of only one Palin Not a lot is known about her as it should be; It is known that she sticks to her guns even when it means it will not be easy for her and her’s. She has much intestinal fortitude and loves her children as a mother should. She does not discount or discard the weak and needy but brings them into her safety were they can be feed and develop to their full potential. She is a fine choice. Her husband is accustomed too hard work and will be able to hold the home together while she is away. The environment and future generations will be better because of them, take a look at her state, how could one woman have done so much to improve a place in such a short time.
May they do what is right and appoint good people to help delegate the responsibilities without partisanship or bias.
12 and 13 is TOO YOUNG!, 14 and 15? TOO YOUNG! (16?, is still very young!). Obviously 17 is not too young for some who can wait no longer. Why not wait? While some are able and willing too get too work raising their own before others; "It may be better (and polite) too start planning ‘a little early’ while you are still young and fresh than ‘a little late’ or not at all." When it comes to raising the children, there are those who step up to the plate and raise others. They have my adoration, respect and prayers; those who can wait, those who prove themselves capable of supporting themselves and those who need them. It takes time too develop and that's half the fun of it. Lets all; have fun and enjoy the proses shall we?
