I am writing this on the computer in the auditorium after sneaking away for a few minutes during a break in our first night of VBS. I remember going to VBS as a kid; it was the only time we got cookies and Kool-Aid at church. They told us that we were to be a "Booster" (not grouchy like a rooster) and invite all our friends to VBS so that we would all get cookies and Kool-Aid. Cookies and Kool-Aid at VBS was a pretty big deal.Now VBS is a multimedia Bible adventure with a science lab, craft station, and outside game activities that all support a Bible lesson that is presented on a special set by Bible teachers in full costume. The refreshments are built into the Bible lesson to reinforce the story (tonight they had pop-rocks in a orange soda with mint that foamed up to remind them of the burning bush story). Actually, the burning bush was a great first lesson because the whole church building smelled like burning Styrofoam from last minute additions to the set. Yep, this is a long way from cookies and Kool-Aid and flannel-graph lessons.
But then, it's the same old story. God spoke from the burning bush; God speaks to us today through his word. The packaging is different; the refreshments are different. The truth is the same. So is the excitement on faces of the kids.

God spoke to the one, who was told to remove his shoes, he was told to remove his shoes by the One who spoke . . . why was he told to remove his shoes? Who spoke from the burning bush? The bush; it burned yet it was not consumed.
God spoke to His servant and messenger, God knows all and tells us what we need too know. When the Lord speaks and He does speak through His Holy Spirit and It is The written Word recorded and passed down from generation to generation in the Holy Bible. His servants must listen and deliver the massage without distorting or changing it according too our own very limited understanding. God has been and will be forever, He created all things spiritual and eternal and some things he created to pass away, like our earthly bodies that must be feed and clothed with earthly things. We have been and are here in our earthly bodies for a very short time. We have a eternal soul that is housed in our earthly form that we can see and touch. The soul is not seen with the eyes of the body, it’s works are seen and our intentions are known nothing can not be hid from our Lord. His ways are complete and perfect, His ground is Holy.
The spirit and soul is God’s, it came from the Lord and will return to the Lord and be judged by the perfect One and give an answer for what was done when it was carried on the earth for the short time that it was in the body. Now is the time to report, repent of sin and be washed by His love. There is a way and it is Christ the only begotten Son who was nailed to a cross. He bleed and died, spotless and sinless. It was for mankind that He died. Sin is too be washed away by His grace and mercy that mankind might return to the Lord Spotless and Holy because of the precious blood of the Lamb of God. Yes there is a Way and God does speak to His children even today through His spirit and it is written for the non-believers to read and hear and know that He is Lord.
