Unfortunately, his ministry is not self-supporting. His wife has recently returned to work, and he is paid (as I understand it) to work with and counsel at risk kids by the state. Because he is paid for by tax-payer funds, there is a limit to what he can say and do. In fact, they have made him stop using the word “virtues.” That word “sounds too religious” and using it is too close to “proselytizing.” The term “Character Qualities” is OK, but “virtue” is definitely out. The reason that Duke came by to visit is that he is trying to raise funds so he can afford to refusestate money with its constraints.
What a shame that the concept of “virtue” is considered too partisan or parochial to be used in a secular context. May God bless people like Duke and Duchess whoare making a difference in the lives of those who need God so desperately.

Parachurch group? Virtues “sounds too religious”? Can’t have that in our state! Must remove all appearances of any morals or religion or separate from state funding? “Character Qualities” is OK, but “virtue” is not? Call it “character qualities” and let the state send them some more of our hard earned tax dollars!
Seriously there is more than I know and these children need our help and our prayers. They will with the help of Godly men and women find what they need and I will try to give more. My prayers are with you all. It is a shame we must change names to prevent the (appearance of a lack of (separation of church and state) I do not believe that it was the intentions of the founding fathers. . . to remove all morals from our nations government. It was to prevent the tyrannical and heavy handed church of England thing from happening here again. Yet have we become what those who wrote the laws foresaw and wanted to prevent for our future generations. We must teach morality and responsibility by example.

It appears someone in a leadership position believes that the state has a problem with this word. . . virtue?. . . ) 4 archaic virginity or chastity. What kind of state do we live in!
WHAT’S UP WITH THAT!!!
Follow the rules laid down by the God appointed leaders of our land. Look to the heart of the law and obey it. Lead by example. Be responsible, be good father’s and mother’s to those who can not be with theirs. I have nothing more to give you, I have nothing more to add other than this; unless the state is asking you to do something that is against what the bible tells you you must do and they are supporting you, I’m not sure that are getting the full story. It would probable take more than two hours to explain it all.
I love our state (always have and always will) from the mountains to the sea shores. I am sad to hear that they have a problem with this word or concept. . . virtue. Call it what you will. . . that doesn’t change the way it smells. Perhaps part of the ‘operation’ could be run by state funds and a separate group that is unfunded by state funds could use the word virtue since the state seems to have a real problem with that word and they might take away the money if they know you are saying or teaching it?
